Special Events

This page holds details of past and future events in District 112 but are NOT District events such as training and conferences. Events are organised by members or clubs with the help of the District leadership.

To have YOUR event listed here, you need to have it recognised by the Leadership team, and your publicity must follow the Toastmasters Branding Guidelines, particularly the sections on use of logo and recognised colours.

World Speech Day is on March 15, 2023 - are you in?

World Speech Day is an annual event that has grown from 7 countries to over 100 in just seven years. Visit worldspeechday.com for details.

In New Zealand, there are two three hour speaking events, in association with Whangarei Toastmasters. The morning one is 7.00am to 10.00am; the evening, 8:15pm – 11:15pm.

Anyone, Toastmaster or no, can give a speech on any topic – and evaluations are available so you can use it as a speech project if you wish. Simply contact Gavin Lamb, our WSD Ambassador, on wsdnz2023@gmail.com to volunteer. Sessions are online via Zoom; the link ID is 649 201 4572.

How long you speak for is up to you but the expected format is 10 minutes or less. If you’d like a longer slot, simply ask for one.

We have six hours to fill – please help us fill it!
