Other Parnell Attractions
Parnell is the oldest suburb in New Zealand, established in 1841 while Auckland was still the capital. This makes the Parnell Historic Walk a real treat for those interested in early New Zealand.
If horticulture is your thing, or you just like roses or need a quiet time, the Parnell Rose Gardens are a few minutes up Gladstone Road. A a few minutes the other way, the precinct of the Holy Trinity Cathedral is worth a look for its architecture alone.
Books have been written about this place, but we don’t need to. If you want to know more, simply visit the Parnell Business Association’s site.
After all, if it was intriguing enough for President Clinton to slip the leash and explore, maybe it will intrigue you, as well.
